Fasting, water, timing and what to bring — set out test by test, including what pregnant patients need to carry.

Fasting

Abdominal ultrasound and most blood tests need 6–8 hours empty stomach.

Full bladder

Pelvic and obstetric scans need a full bladder — drink water and hold.

Prescription

Every pregnancy ultrasound needs a doctor's prescription, along with an address proof as well as two passport sized pictures of the expecting mother.
